- How to talk about the past to make your message clear, accurate and reliable but at the same time convincing for contemporary recipients? Anyone who is involved with museum historical exhibitions, including the history of XX century wars and totalitarian systems, will have to ask this question. Founders of the Warsaw Rising Museum also had to face this problem. We assumed that by linking history with modernity, memorial site with modern exhibition techniques, the events of 60 years ago will become ingrained in modern national awareness.
- To design a modern museum exhibition we reached for proven foreigner examples, such as: The Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington and the House of Terror Museum in Budapest. First and foremost we wanted to convey the climate of those times, recreate the atmosphere of fighting Warsaw, show, not only the military struggle of those 63 days but also everyday life of civilians. Only in this way we could reach our target audience – the young people. Our Museum is designed to tell them a story of the Rising, show all of its aspects and convey its significance.
