PRESS AND LEAFLETS (103)

Insurgents often posed for photographs leaning their heads over insurgent newspapers and leaflets. In August and September, there were around 150 titles in regular circulation, with every district having its own newspaper. "Biuletyn Informacyjny" (Information Bulletin), the most important and widely distributed of those, was often shown in such photos. The photographs show also posters on the walls and fences, but most of them were included in the frame by accident as the background for intentionally documented events. However, there are some exceptions. For example, Joachim Joachimczyk aimed his lens at one of the most famous posters "Do broni w szeregach A.K." (To arms! In the ranks of A.K.), and Eugeniusz Lokajski photographed one that warned against rocket shells popularly known as "cows". Propaganda posters and leaflets distributed in 1945, heralding the new era, represent an interesting category.
