‘Remembrance Caught on Camera’. The Eugeniusz Lokajski Photography Competition

The Warsaw Rising, the key event in the Polish history, is interwoven in the memory of Polish people. To mark its 82nd anniversary, the Warsaw Rising Museum invites you to participate in the 8th edition of the Eugeniusz Lokajski Photo Competition “Remembrance Caught in Camera”.

We kindly invite all those who want to express their respect, emotions and feelings via photography, no matter the age, equipment or experience they have.

Preserve the memory lest it fades away

The objective is to capture the atmosphere of the commemorations of the Warsaw Rising in a personal, creative and dedicated way. We do not impose a given place or style, the pictures may be taken during official commemorations but they may also document small events such as concerts, community actions, theme meetings or symbolic gestures. Significantly, the photographs may be taken anywhere all over the globe.

The slogan of the 8th edition, namely: “Take a photo. Show the world that you remember!” encourages to take part in the commemorations and share our perspective by the means of photography. No matter whether you are a professional photographer or you take photos with your smartphone – your perspective matters!
